Summer is a great time to not only get outside and enjoy the nice weather, but it is a perfect opportunity to play some GIANT lawn games in your yard! I bet you didn’t even know some of your favorite games come in a bigger size! Classic games such as Jenga, Sorry, Checkers, Tic Tac Toe, and more can now be taken outside in the sunshine and played right in your grass.
These games are perfect to play at your backyard barbecue, at a birthday party, or even just for a game night with friends. There are a bunch of options available and I found it hard to narrow down to pick just one or two. In fact, I had such a hard time deciding that I now own a lot of these games!
Here are 19 giant lawn games to play in your yard with your family, kids, and/or friends this summer. Remember, I warned you it would be hard to pick just one or two favorites!
Classic Giant Lawn Games
It’s not only fun to play, but fun to watch! With 54 Jenga Giant hardwood blocks, this game can get to be over 8 times the size of the classic Jenga game. Once you set it up, it starts at just under 2 feet tall. However, it can grow to be over 4 feet high while playing! For 1 or more players, ages 8 to adult.
Now you can play Pass the Pigs with BIG PIGS! This game includes 2 giant 6″ foam pig dice, an over-sized score pad, instructions, and a drawstring storage bag. For 2 or more players, ages 7 and up.
Play checkers with the classic red and black colors on a 4′ x 4′ canvas checkerboard. In addition, flip over the mat and it turns into a tic-tac-toe board! So you get both games in one! The mega 5″ foam checker discs double as X’s and O’s when you flip them over as well.
Take your favorite classic domino game outdoors for even more fun. This large-format set includes 28 pieces each measuring 3.5” x 7” x .5” and features varnish-finished and color-coded pips. When finished playing, conveniently store and transport your set in the included Oxford cloth storage carry bag.
In this classic game, you have to connect four discs in a row, either vertically, horizontally, or (what always gets me!) diagonally. I personally own a wooden set but like the durability of a plastic set. Mine is holding up just fine but if you are in an area with more severe weather you might want to opt for the plastic version.
Play either chess or checkers with this multi-use set! Chess pieces range from 6″ to 10″ in height. Mat size is 70″ x 62″ and has a waterproof backing. It’s great fun to bring along a 2-in-1 oversized game to any party, the beach, the park, or even while camping!
Giant Board Games
It’s the classic game of SORRY! with bigger pawns and a large, oversized vinyl mat gameboard. It’s almost the same as the original, however, you only get 3 pieces to move instead of 4. In addition, there is a spinner instead of cards. Spin and move your gigantic pawns around the board as you race, slide, and score. Use strategy and luck to get your 3 pawns back home first, and you win! For 2 to 4 players, ages 6 and up.
The large, 64”x64” illustrated vinyl game board makes for giant fun inside or out. With no reading required, this is perfect to play with young gamers. Spin the Lollipop Spinner and move to that color. When you reach a neighborhood, you get to collect a card. The first player to collect 4 cards and then reach King Kandy’s Castle wins the game! It even comes with a foam crown for the winner to wear! For 2 to 4 players, ages 4 and up.
The 9 large vinyl mats, detailed with illustrations of the rooms of the mansion, will create a larger-than-life game board. Move from room to room, collecting clues on who you think did it, in what room, and with what tool. The game also comes with big foam tools, which you need to solve the mystery and become the winner! For 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up.
With a bigger playing mat, it is a lot easier to see the squares in this jumbo version of Sequence! This game is one of our all-time favorites to play with the grandparents. It’s really a lot of fun! Sequence combines a standard deck of cards with a bingo-like game. When a player lays down a card, they get to put a chip on the board with that exact card on it. Get 5 in a row in two places on the board and you win the game.
Giant Card Lawn Games
Now you can play your family’s favorite card game but with cards that are 3 times as large! Great for the beach or pool, play classic UNO by matching cards by color or number in a race to deplete your hand. Use the challenge or wild cards to switch things up. For 2 or more players, ages 8 and up.
Play classic favorites like Go Fish, Memory, War, or Rummy with these jumbo-playing cards! Or get a game of poker going! These are the biggest playing cards you’ll find, measuring at a supersized 10.5” x 14.5”!
Giant Dice Lawn Games
Rollzee (or Yardzee) AND Farkle
One of our favorites to play – there is just something about trying to gather and hold all 5 or 6 of these large wooden dice that makes it a great time! You can play a classic game of Yahtzee using 5 of the dice and the included dry-erase scoreboard. Or switch things up a bit and try Farkle with 6 dice! We’ve had so many hours of fun playing both games.
Play the classic game except with wooden dice that are 150x the size! Gameplay is simple – you roll the oversized dice and pass the huge (3.5in diameter) red plastic chips in the direction the dice tell you to. The winner is the one who takes all of the chips!
Other Giant Lawn Games
Get ready to have your lawn game Olympics with this giant-sized pong game! Enjoy your favorite pong games with these oversized buckets. Comes with easy-to-understand gameplay and flexible rules, suitable for beginners or advanced players.
Giant Inflatable Bowling Pins & Ball
You’ll be striking up some good times with the kids by getting this giant inflatable bowling set! See what I did there?! Ha! Children will delight in knocking over these large pins, with a large bowling ball of course! The pins have a flat sand-weighted base that provides just enough weight to keep them standing, but not too much to prevent them from being knocked over when struck by the ball. So it’s a perfect balance!
Throw Throw Burrito Outdoor Edition
How about playing dodge ball…with giant-sized burritos?! Three feet high to be exact! If you already enjoy the standard Throw Throw Burrito, you’ll have a blast with this bigger size. Even the cards are larger. If you have yet to play Throw Throw Burrito, it is from the makers of Exploding Kittens and is a lot of fun. It’s half card game, half dodge ball. So be sure you play your cards right while avoiding a run-in with a 3-foot burrito.
