It’s March – Spring is almost here! We still have some cold days to get through but it feels so good knowing nicer weather is on its way. In the meantime, warm up with this delicious white hot cocoa recipe! It is so easy to make and when you add the green food coloring with rainbow marshmallows it really makes it festive for the kiddos! Personally, I like to enjoy mine after the kids are in bed with some Crème de menthe – yum!
2 cups whole milk
2 cups half and half
2 large 8 oz. white chocolate bars, broken into small pieces (I used Lindt)
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
2 drops green food coloring
Mini rainbow marshmallows for garnish (optional)
1. In a large saucepan, add the milk and half and half. Heat over medium heat stirring constantly until the milk becomes hot. Do not let the milk boil.
2. Add the white chocolate pieces and stir until melted.
3. Add the peppermint extract and green food coloring. Stir until well mixed.
4. Pour into serving glass and garnish with mini rainbow marshmallows.
This recipe yields four servings.
