Not only is Super Bowl Sunday the biggest football game of the year, but it makes for a great reason to throw a party! And while your guests may be looking to enjoy tasty food and drinks, you can also entertain them with some fun betting games at your party.
There are many different games you can play before, during, and after the game, and gambling on the outcome makes it more interesting.
Below you will find some Super Bowl betting games you can play at your next gathering. From prop bets bingo to trivia, you are sure to find something to entertain.
Before I delve into the gaming ideas, I want to note that you should tell your invitees in advance regarding the betting games you will offer. This way, they can be prepared if they’re going to participate.
Here are 6 Super Bowl betting games that are sure to make your party a blast:
Super Bowl Squares
Probably the most played Super Bowl betting game, which you may have participated in before, is Super Bowl squares. This game typically requires some planning beforehand. Since there are 100 possible winning outcomes, you will want to get as many people buying a square (or two!) before the big day.
Most people sell off squares the few weeks before the game for $1 or more per square. It is best to determine the prize payouts before you offer squares up, so people know what they are playing for.
If you decide to do this more for the fun of it, you could choose to charge a small amount for each square at the party. You could make each cost $0.25 or $0.50, allowing your guests to afford multiple squares and having more chances to win. This is especially a great option for a small gathering.

Super Bowl Claim To Fame Trivia Game
Football trivia is a fun activity to do before kickoff. You can get creative and make up your own trivia sheet or head over to our Etsy shop to purchase a 20 question quiz. An answer key is included.
Once you have your trivia sheet, determine how much to collect from participants that want to play. Next, hand out your quiz and have them fill out their answers during a set amount of time. Finally, go over the correct answers before the Super Bowl starts. Whoever has the most amount of correct answers wins the prize money.
Oh, and be sure no one cheats using their mobile device or a computer!
Super Bowl Props Football Predictions
A props prediction sheet makes for another fun and easy game for your guests to participate in. Before the game starts, have each betting guest fill out what events they believe will occur during the game. Whoever gets the most correct will win the overall pot.
You can create your question sheet on your own or grab a premade game available in our Etsy Shop, where you can print off as many copies as you need.
Pass The Prize
I was going to call this one Pass the Pot, but that didn’t sound so good. 🤣 So Pass The Prize it is!
This game is an easy way to keep the interaction going while watching the Super Bowl.
First, decide on a set amount everyone will put into a cup or container. Next, determine what direction the cup will get passed, clockwise or counterclockwise, around your group of participants. Then decide who will start with the cup first. You can draw names from a hat, use a deck of cards with the highest card drawn, or use a random number generator.
Once the game starts, the cup gets passed in the order decided upon when the football changes possession. The last person holding the cup at the end of the game wins the pot.
You might determine to play a different game each quarter to have four winners. For example, ask for $1 from each player for the first quarter, $2 for the second, and so on.
Super Bowl Props Bingo
Bingo is fun anytime, and crossing off a board with football stats is a great way to engage your guests throughout the game.
You can get creative and make your own bingo boards or you can purchase our handmade set of 10 different Super Bowl Props Bingo boards here. Included with your purchase, you will receive a football stats tracker to keep tabs on everything happening during the game. If you prefer to make your own, you can use this free printable found here.
As with traditional bingo, anyone participating would cross off or stamp their respective square once an event occurs. The first to get bingo wins the pot! Or you could wait until the end of the game to tally up all the crossed-off bingo squares. Whoever has the most marks wins the pot.
Super Bowl Commercial Bingo
Another fun variation is commercial bingo, where you would use different brands running commercials during the Super Bowl. As your guests see these brands, they mark off any spots they have. The first to get five in a row wins bingo! Do some research to find out which brands will be running ads, then use the free printable here to create your boards to use.
If I have enough time, I just might make a set of commercial bingo cards. Keep an eye out in our Time For A Game Etsy Shop!
MVP Player Pick Off
This game is a great way to end your night of betting fun!
Before the football game begins, write all of the possible MVP players on separate slips of paper. Fold each and put them into a hat or bag. All participants pay to play at whatever amount you decide. After the game, have players pick out a name from the hat or bag. Keep taking turns until someone draws the MVP player. The pot goes to the person who draws the correct MVP pick for this year’s Super Bowl.
So your night of betting games on the Super Bowl might look something like this:
- Super Bowl Squares – $0.25 per square, the payout is at the end of each quarter
- Claim To Fame Super Bowl Trivia Game – $1 to play before the game, payout just before the game starts
- Super Bowl Props Football Predictions – $1 to play before the game, payout after game ends
- Pass The Prize 1st quarter – $1 to play, payout after 1st quarter and goes to the last person holding the cup
- Pass The Prize 2nd quarter – $2 to play, payout after 2nd quarter and goes to the last person holding the cup
- Pass The Prize 3rd quarter – $3 to play, payout after 3rd quarter and goes to the last person holding the cup
- Pass The Prize 4th quarter – $4 to play, payout after 4th quarter and goes to the last person holding the cup
- Super Bowl Props Bingo or Commercial Bingo – $2 to play, payout after game ends
- MVP Player Pick Off – $1 to play, payout after game ends
